Every year, the third Monday in January is labelled the ‘most depressing day or the year’ or #BlueMonday.

Is it? Well no…it was a PR stunt originally dreamed up to sell holidays.

Supposedly the date was calculated by using many factors including dreary weather, post-Christmas debt, low motivation levels and failing to keep new year’s resolutions.

Depression and other mental health problems last for more than a day, and mental health problems can affect people in different ways on any day of the year.

Despite the fact that Blue Monday has no evidence to support, the January Blues or seasonal variations in our mental health can impact many of us at this time of year.

Some people might be experiencing Seasonal Affective Disorder with symptoms of depression that come and go in a seasonal pattern, for more info please check out our previous blog – https://lnkd.in/ed73dzrv

Lets keep the conversation going and get people talking about #MentalHealth.
